This Privacy Policy explains how Earthlight Limited (“Earthlight”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal data when you use our website at earthlightcinema.com or otherwise interact with us.

We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the ePrivacy Regulations 2011 (S.I. No. 336/2011) as applicable in Ireland.

The controller of your personal data is Earthlight Limited, a private limited company registered in Ireland under company number CRN 794918, with its registered office in Dublin.

We collect only what we need. Specifically, we may process:

• Contact data — name, email address, company or project name, and the contents of any message you submit through our contact form or by email.
• Submission metadata — if you submit a script through our submissions partner, we receive the information you provide in that submission.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, referrer and pages visited, processed in aggregate and primarily for security and reliability.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

Under Article 6 GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:

• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — responding to enquiries, evaluating project submissions, operating our website and protecting it against abuse.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for any non-essential cookies or analytics, where required.
• Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — where processing is necessary to enter into or perform a contract with you.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — where we must process data to comply with Irish or EU law.

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Unsuccessful project enquiries are deleted within twenty-four (24) months unless an active conversation is ongoing. Records relating to executed contracts are kept for the period required by Irish corporate and tax law.

We never sell personal data. We share it only with:

• Trusted service providers acting as processors on our instructions (e.g. hosting, email infrastructure, script submission platforms);
• Co-production, financing or distribution partners where you have submitted a project for that purpose;
• Regulators, courts or law enforcement where legally required.

Where data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• request access to your personal data;
• request correction of inaccurate data;

• withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
